Signs...

Morning.. it's lovely and cold here.. with a prediction of alot more snow starting tonight.. sigh.... think we have enough already.. am good with a foot of it.. lol

Here's a couple of  signs I've listed  today on my Etsy store.. there will be more to come ...I haven't figured out how to put a link to it on my blog as yet.. hopefully today.. If you're interested in any of them.. just email me and we'll figure it out..
Orders are progressing well.. and all the laundry is finally caught up with.. it's been a good day. It was wonderful to sit and not do much yesterday.. I think I really needed that.. I did start on some Christmas presents though but that could be done sitting and watching tv.. like that!

Yay!! I'm back! I think...lol

Well.. my 2 biggest shows are behind me now.. it's been a crazy couple of weeks.. still 3 smaller ones to go but the big push is over.. they both went well and I am happy. Traveling to Regina to do the Signatures  show was an adventure .. my first snow drive.. so not fun! lol.. and only having two days between the 2 big ones really was very tiring.. but I'm glad I tried the new one in Regina..We made it a girl's weekend too so had a great time.. and as always the Winnipeg one is good.. fun to catch up with past customers and friends and meet new people. I have alot of orders to finish up in the next 2 weeks and am hoping to get some more things up on my Etsy store now as well.

After the storm going to Regina.. coming home was a breeze.. it had been soooo very foggy all the day before that when we woke up to such a beautiful morning.. couldn't help but stop and take a pic of the beautiful sunrise and all the hoar frost...

Here's a pic of my booth from the Signatures Winnipeg Show.. we also got alot of snow this week too so now it's truly winter..nice and not so nice...
I did some different pieces this year.. some went well and others not so well... lol always the way though.. you just never know.. but I loved this one and I kept it for my door.

Anyways.. have had a lazy day but it's back to getting things done tomorrow..

Wow.. can't believe this...

I can't believe how much time has gone by since I've been here.. does this mean I'm having fun? lol. Every day is spent painting, spraying.. and still feel like I'm so far behind.. Panic mode is setting in..adding that new big show has me really going...
Went into the city on the weekend to babysit.. had a lovely trip to the Assiniboine Park Zoo.. can't remember the last time I was there.. we had alot of fun...

There are geese everywhere.. but thought these looked pretty funny hanging around the corn machine.. for 25 cents you can feed them.. Chaya walked everywhere.. and we were there for hours.. Think this was her most exciting moment though.. she wanted to ride the other pony once she had had a ride on this one.. Her very first pony ride..

I have been busy relearning how to work on my website.. gives me a headache it does..lol
I opened an Etsy store this week too but haven't got alot on it as yet.. hope to get some more things added today..
I finished a few of these Snowman tin stars last night.. the other colors of hats and scarves aren't quite finished..

Rain.. Rain... Rain...

Morning ... have spent most of the past few days spraying things to paint before the rain started.. so now it's time to power paint.. I have a sale in Gimli this saturday and sunday so need to finish off a few things I'm out of for that.. I worked very hard on the Etsy store yesterday and think I am almost ready to list things now.. and have been trying desperately to get back onto my website.. I love ornies.. and here's a few I've been working on the past few days... Hope you like...

The 1st christmas just happened.. could be for a baby .. newlyweds.. first christmas in a new home.. think I'll do some in pink too..I think that would be cute..and there's still abit of room at the bottom for the date/and or name...

Sorry the pic isn't great.. these could be personalized in the snow on the bottom.. love doing the music backgrounds.. and now the last one for today.....another tag ornie...lol... love these tags.. so many cute ideas for them....

More Light bulbs...

I finished off a few of these yesterday.. on to cows today.. they are my favorite ones to do.. I had washed a lot of things to spray but it threatened rain all day yesterday .. and looks the same today.. wish it would make up it's mind already....would so love to be able to move some of this stuff out of the way..lol

Here's the tinfoil paper that I finished off.. turned out great.. I can hardly wait to use it.. hopefully today...
Did I tell you that I worked all day on the policy page for my Etsy store and the power shut off? I think so.. So getting that done finally is on the agenda today.. As well as getting brave enough to turn off my restore points and clear that D drive with the shadow copies that is flashing full all the time, once that is done I should be able to do a back up finally.. this is a definite maybe..lol

Some finished UFO'S

Its beautiful outside.. very cool.. no frost yet but no wind either.. lovely fall day... I spent yesterday reorganizing what I need to get painted and finishing up some UFO's.. I love to crochet but never seem to get to it anymore. I used to make these angels all the time but for the past year have been moving them around when all they needed was hair, wings and halos...here's a sample of them..It  felt so good to put them in with the finished items..lol

Then onto these little snowmen lightbulb ornies that have been waiting for toques since last fall...poor things..lol

One of the top things on my list is to start on more lightbulb ornies.. the bucket is pretty much empty from last fall's sales.. nice that they sold so well..not good that there's really none in there..lol
Then I started on the last of these Quilled ornies.. beautiful wire stars with quilled roses and daisies...There's about 30 or so in the bag  but haven't found the stars anywhere for the past couple of years so this may be the last of them..

I actually played with paper too yesterday.. Jen has this great tutorial on her blog with scrunched up tin foil.. lovely.. so I have 2 pieces of it ready for color today...hope to show you tomorrow what I wanted to do with it...

Hello....

Good morning.. painted all day yesterday.. have alot of these tag ornies done up now.. These are Kim Klassen designs.. and now onto snowmen  and more basecoating of other things (this never seems to end..lol).. am hoping that it warms up some so that can get abit more spraying in today as well...
I've been working on setting up an Etsy store.. so many things to figure out.. it's amazing to me how many things I don't know some days...lol
I love quilling and my friend Ann Martin has a fantastic blog with interesting quilling and other paper artists that she features... right now she's having a give away for a new book that I would soooo love to have..I hope to show you a few quilled items soon.. I'm having to go back and retake pics of things that I have done as my back up disc I did before I got my computer reformatted shows up as blank .. so depressing to think of all the pictures and things I lost on it.. but my computer is running better now... so will look on the bright side..

A Cool crisp fall morning...

Morning .. it's sure cool out there this morning.. nice that the sun is shining but so makes you think of winter.. and I am so not ready for that...lol I had seen on the weather channel that it was supposed to be like this today so spent the whole day outside yesterday spraying things to paint..
The sale was good.. the sun shone so there was a lot of peeps out and about.. when we got back to my girlfriend's house .. we made two big platters of taco dip for Chaya's second  birthday party on sunday.. Doesn't she look lovely in her new dress and pink shoes? and Micah looked so pretty too.. I just can't believe that the time has gone so fast.. seems like yesterday that she was just a baby....but then it doesn't seem so long ago that both their mothers were this age too...lol  It was great fun...lots of good food.. family and friends.. can't ask for much more than that.
I had painted 2 red skates for this sale.. I only had a black one left to take...the skates are painted with a scene on each side.. and look great hanging on your door.. and they are just fun to do too..

Happy Friday!

Wow can't believe it's Friday already.. and the long weekend... the rain is supposed to stop and although it's supposed to be cool... sunny is the prediction..sure hope they're right..lol.. I'm heading off today for Victoria Beach and their lovely long weekend craft sale tomorrow.. always a fun time... then my granddaughter's 2nd birthday party is on Sunday.. I can't believe she is 2 already.. where has the time gone? It should be fun.. I made 5 dozen bacon & mushroom quiches yesterday for it.. and will make 2 big platters of taco dip on saturday night after the sale to take along..I finished up a couple of little things for the sale.. and a couple of skates.. but the pictures of the skates will have to wait till they're stuffed and laced.. so here's the clothespins and skate ornies that are ready to go..

Yay! another order finished...

Here's the pictures of the  paddle I've been  painting.. sorry the pics aren't that good.. I think I took about 30 to get these.. picture taking is not my strong point...lol  Now to make enough space to varnish it all and it will get picked up tomorrow at the Farmer's Market... I love this sponge painting... the only brush I used was to make the horizon line.. and the silhouette of the bear..I guess you can tell what I use this picnic table for the most too.. spraying things.. the bench is lovely right now with the outlines of stars right across it.. usually it has circles from spraying cd's...
We did a swap on our painting group.. and now that everyone has theirs I can show you what the one I did looked like..

Thanks Marie for sending me the picture of it.. the picture of all of them was one that got lost when my camera card screwed up..
I'm going to head into Winnipeg tonight.. have a little visit with the kids.. the invitation will get picked up and do the market tomorrow.. so won't be around till thursday..

Something new to show you...

Good Monday morning... hope everyone had a lovely weekend... This quilled invitation is what I worked on all day yesterday.. I do a lot of special order invitations for weddings and anniversaries..they do make a lovely unique gift. I loved the background of the invitation so fall like so not  a flower on it..just leaves.                    

The Farmer's Market on saturday was good.. it rained most of the day though and I think that their numbers were down from usual.  I do think though if I get invited to do another saturday market that I will go into      Winnipeg the night before.. getting up at 3:45 and being on the road by 4:30 is just way too early..lol  It was interesting though to get interviewed by their Craft Person that authenticates that everything is made by hand, what your workspace is like, where you get supplies, ideas.. Once this has been done you get a Certificate of Authenticity to hang in your booth, nice to see very strict regulations and I'm sure this is what has made them the most popular market in Manitoba. Well I have a canoe paddle to paint for a special order.. so off to work on that.. I'm also in the process of opening an Etsy store.. this is definitely keeping me out of trouble..lol

When I posted the pictures from Lockport I missed one booth.. and didn't know how to edit it to put Lori Hopkins' booth in after I had posted. Lori's business is called "She Is So Unusual" and  paints on mostly vintage items...purses, jackets, pillows, bags as well as wood and metal .. but also makes some unusual items like birch bark planters too..so here's a couple of her art for you to see as well..

Good morning...

my booth...

 

Well the weekend went well.. sooo very hot and humid on saturday.. as you can see by the puddles on the ground.. was a little wet... they had a deluge on friday night and the ground inside the tent on saturday morning was covered in about 3inches of water.. which they swept out.. but with all the traffic thru the water just kept coming up everywhere.. they had to put more gravel in on the sunday... Sunday.. the wind was incredible.. kept wondering if we were taking off for other places...lol My camera all of a sudden decided that I should have my memory card reformatted so am thinking I lost everything that was on it.. very sad about that as I can't remember what was uploaded and what wasn't...lol so a friend Greg lent me his to take some..
Here's his booth... he makes wonderful wood products.. trains..bread boards,  his frames and planters out of barn wood are just gorgeous..

Here's a pic of the general store across the way from where the tents were.. great looking building.. and they have absolutely everything you could possibly want...lol Finally a pic of my friend Joy.. who did the organizing for the event (which she did a fantastic job for by the way) and paints the most beautiful rocks ever...

Now yesterday didn't go exactly as planned.. was going to paint bowls.. and show you these pics.. but DH came home with 2 pails of wild plums.. so I got 4 batches done then ran out of sugar.. oh darn!! lol  I usually babysit Chaya every second weekend but  I had traded my weekend  to do this show.  I am so missing her that I called to see if she could come out for a couple of days so will be off to pick her up in awhile.. and return her friday morning...She always wants to paint with me so I have picked her up some paint with water books so we can sit at the table together and paint.. am hoping that it works.. it's hard to paint with her on my lap..lol  Anyways.. got the floor washed last night and the place mostly Chaya proofed so just have to run the vacuum over everything before I leave to get her..

but first.. these are the 5 orphaned kittens we found.. they were only about 4 weeks old.. they are doing great and have grown so much since this pic.. they are so much fun to watch and play with..aren't they adorable?

Good Morning...

This is how some of those of those bowls will look when I'm done..that pile is rather overwhelming though..lol, even more so now that I feel like I'm the only one with that many of them...
It's beautiful here today.. sun is shining.. day is getting warmer.. nights have been on the cool side this week but we're supposed to be heating up for the weekend again..with the humidex going up again too.. so could be a heatstroke weekend again .. lol.. I will be off to Lockport, Manitoba on friday for their 100th Anniversary weekend .. check it out at http://www.lockportmanitoba.ca  Katie's Cows & Udder things along with a lot of other great exhibitors  will be set up in a tent for the 2 days from 12-7 Saturday August 21 & 22.. Should be a fun weekend...
Posting today was alot easier than the first one yesterday..I think this will be fun!! I will figure out the best way to start the contest..and hopefully get it posted tomorrow before I leave..
